Workers Compensation in the 21st Century #70351       9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This course will discuss the history and development of Workers Compensation Insurance. We will define who are employers and employees according to Insurance Wisconsin Statue and will include a review of the statutory requirements of employer’s in terms of protecting their employees from work related injuries or diseases. The Workers Compensation Insurance application and policy will be reviewed, including many of the major endorsements. We will also discuss how premiums are determined and how they may be modified based on individual losses. (3 Credits)


Cyberspace Liability #70362                                                 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The liability issues that Cyberspace creates will be identified and discussed. We will review the history of civil liability in America, negligence, and how it is the key element of our civil liability system. The development of liability insurance to protect families and businesses from third party litigation and the changes in our legal environment in America in the 21st Century will be examined. Why current liability policies do not adequately protect insured’s from the new Cyberspace liability issues will be discussed. We will review the electronic revolution called the Internet in terms of how it effect’s our legal system. The development of new liability insurance policies to meet Cyberspace liability will be reviewed and discussed. (3 Credits)


The classes will be held at Clarion Hotel, 626 W. Pine Street, Baraboo WI
Tuition for each class is $10.00 or $20.00 for the day with lunch provided.
